JAE Baby Quilt, Aug 2019 - June 2021
This baby quilt was done for my friend Lorraine's second grandson, James. It was hard to find just the right layout for this North American Wildlife/Ocean" panel from Robert Kaufman. I'd already used this panel to make my sister's quilt Watery Windows (later renamed "Ocean Adventures" before putting in Alheimer's Raffle), but I didn't want to make the same pattern. I wanted to combine the panels with another large scale fish print and include many blue/green fabrics already in my stash -- finally found this not-very-clear small picture with a layout that seemed perfect. This is a Single Irish Chain pattern alternating with the Ocean plain blocks and seaweed print plain blocks. Added wave-live piano key borders top and bottom.
Other than the panel, all the other fabrics, including the backing were in my stash. Quilted in diagonal straight and wavy lines in a deep blue-green thread.
