Sister Betsy was painting ducks and whales on baby t-shirts and bibs to sell at a store in downtown Fort Walton Beach (sold well in summer tourist season). Much later Betsy made her own stationary and painted whales on plain white fabric for me to make into a small quilt. Backing fabric is blue flowered nylon fleece (used for sleepwear) and binding is commercial navy cotton blanket binding. Did hand-quilting around each block and each whale.
