Hexagonal red, gold, and black print fabrics alternate with solid tan hex patches with signs of the Chinese zodiac (great-nephew Tai is a Monkey). The patchwork hexagons are "mirrored" so each of 6 pieces is identical or bialaterially symetrical. The quilt back is a tan Woolrich fleece blanket.
