Utility Quilt : SNAP on Tap, Oct 2014

This inexpertly pieced muslin and cotton quilt top was donated to the SNAP Thrift Store in summer 2014. It took hours to press the top as most of the seams were twisted. I used a tea-dyed king sheet as a backing, pieced with some other shirt-like plaid and striped fabrics. The striped fabric used in the binding is an actual cut-up shirt. The poor quality of the top, both in fabric and in construction, did not require any but the most basic diagonal quilting. This 75" x 80" quilt went to the SNAP on Tap fundraiser's silent auction, with a minimum $25 bid.
