Rita's Going Away Quilt, May 2000
I organized some of my co-workers at SIRSI to make a going-away quilt for Rita, the "mom" of about 19 cats.
I created a variety of cardboard cat outlines, brought in a bunch of fabric, and let them choose what they wanted to do.
At home, I appliqued all the cats to the chosen background fabrics, added the embellishments, then stitched all the blocks together.
We surprised Rita with the quilt at the end of a company meeting.
