At the 2010 HQH Quilt Retreat, many people were showing off their rag quilts, so I was determined to make one of my own for the 2011 retreat. I'd been saving some Folk Art Fancies art cat flannel designed by Bonnie Sullivan for about 10 years: I had various panels, a stripe, and an overall print. Every so often I would buy a small piece of plain flannel in a coordinating color. This year I stopped my fabric diet long enough to buy a few more flannel coordinates, enough to make this flannel rag quilt in time for the 2011 HQH retreat.
It took a while to make all the little flannel sandwiches for this quilt and even longer to make a pleasing arrangement, but I had lots of time -- I did this during an unusually snowy week in January.
