This wall hanging, made in memory of my pie-loving father-in-law, consists of 9 foundation pieced blocks in a quilt designed by Brenda Groelz. Because this was quite an old pattern, many of the specially printed fabrics intended for this quilt were no longer available, but I was able to buy small quantities of various fruit fabrics -- cherries, blackberries, blueberries, mixed berries, purple berries, apple slices, banana slices, strawberry slices (didnt't use strawberries or purple berries). I had lots of fun designing and assembling the little pies, and I used a thick white felt for the "cream" topping of the chocolate and banana cream pies, and cut up some soft off-white silk to make other whipped cream decorations. I made each of the crust-topped pies have a slightly different design.
