Flower Squares, 2003-2004 (updated 2009)
Made in the Beacon Lights pattern, the solid pastel fabrics and the
embroidered flowers of this queen-size quilt are meant to coordinate with
Mom's existing window treatments and pillow shams. The quilt back is the
green Waverly toile "Governor's Palace". The embroidered flowers include trillim, iris, daffodil, orchid, lavender, columbine, lily, and lily-of-the-valley.
This quilt was updated in 2009 with an added 10 inch border and a different iris block.
The new front border fabric is from "Flora and Felines" by RJR, and the majority of its red flowers were overpainted with pink.
The original embroidered iris was replaced by a more pastel version.
The newback border fabric is a small green and cream floral that coordinates with the original Williamsburg toile backing fabric.
