This wall hanging design was modified from Marinda Stewart's "Climbing Lanterns" pattern, which uses 6 1/2-inch blocks and ends up making a bigger quilt. Mine uses only 3/1/4-inch blocks, and instead of red, 3-dimensional, folded "lanterns," I have standard applique oak leaves in bright orange.
Except for the tree fabric, I used only fabric in my stash (although the I actually pulled this together as a kit long before I started work on it). Most of the quilting is free motion spirals.
