Wine Country Autumn : Friends, Inc., Sept. 23, 2011

This quilt is a traditional 4-patch set on point with sashing. This design started when a friend gave me a charm pack of purple, brown, cream, and green fabric squares. I already had the plain lavender fabric used in the setting triangles and sashing, and my only purchase was the green border print.
The back uses some additional squares and a drapery print of grapes, leaves, and vines that Mike brought back from a trip to England 15 years ago.
Most of the quilting is straight diagonal lines, except for the setting triangles. Each of the side setting triangles is quilted with a grape leaf, and each of the corner triangles is quilted with a bunch of grapes, with additional free motion quilting in matching lavender thread.
This quilt will raise funds in the silent auction that is a part of their annual fundraiser, An Autumn Evening with Friends.
