A Nursery Sampler : Friends, Inc., Sept. 28, 2007

I won a bunch of pastel "Turning Twenty" blocks at a drawing at the August 2007 quilters guild meeting. I put them together, with some fun embroidery into this quilt to benefit Friends, Inc., a non-profit, interfaith volunteer caregiving organization that provides support to patients with serious illnesses or disabilities and to their families. The benefit, "An Autumn Evening with Friends," was held Sept. 28 at the Monte Sano Lodge.

Dale G., whose husband Tommy has worked with Mike and the Community Free Clinic, mentioned this fund-raiser when we had dinner at Christmas. I'd been thinking about something suitable, but did not find out the date until quite late.

The quilt back used a pastel floral that I'd had for some time; the machine quilting was in simple parallel lines.
