Mom's Door Quilts : Eat Your Vegetables, April 2020

Modeled on this Purl Soho wall hanging The Vegetable Patch published in April 2011. I did my root vegetables a little differently and added a rabbit eating the carrot tops. Part of the "dirt" is made from a brown silk shirt of Betsy's, the "sky" is a blue thrift store shirt back, and the green lace of the "carrot tops" was part of the old hem lace from Mom's old sewing cabinet. I had plenty of batik scraps that worked for the vegetables and greens. The hardest part was using colored pencils for the rabbit details. I glued a small half-circle of sequin to a small black button for the eye and added to tiny white fur scrap for the cottontail.
