Comfy Quilts 2009

My quilt guild, the Heritage Quilters of Huntsville, supply several organizations with quilts to give away. We make lap quilts for nursing homes (40" x 40"), baby quilts (36" x 36") to cover isolettes in the Huntsville Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and bed quilts of any size for Crisis Services to distribute to children in difficult circumstances.

Dec 2009 #6: Striped Star Comfy (NICU)

Nov 2009 #6: Pastel Comfy

Apr-Jun 2009 #5: Sparkle Comfy
The sparkly purples and pinks of this quilt mix nicely with the other pastels left over from Princess Savannah's quilt.

Apr-Jun 2009 #4: Chili Comfy
The black/brown, tan, and red prints from one of Joann Fabric's sale tables combine with the turquoise and harvest gold for sort of a retro look. This adaptation of the classic snoball pattern came from a magazine.

Jan-Mar 2009 #3: Star Comfy
The pale yellow solid and the floral print were packaged by the guild out of their stash. I borrowed a book from Lisa to make this nice pattern (same book that Sukmi's chocolate quilt came from)

Jan-Mar 2009 #2: Ship Comfy
I found this nautical print as a remnant at Joann's. I was able to put the rest of the quilt together out of my stash. I had the blocks finished and ready to assemble during the guild's Feb 09 quilt marathon, but I got distracted and messed up the blue and yellow rows. The blue checked border and backing fabric was first used in the Folk Art Star quilt.

Jan-Mar 2009 #1: Daisy Comfy
The center daisy print was from a Hobby Lobby remnant. The 3 borders are all from my stash. The flannel back was guild fabric, picked up at the quilt marathon.
