A Bunny Story, March 2016

Some roughly cut squares of an interesting print were donated to the MP thrift store. I took them home, planning to make them into a simple quilt to sell in the shop for Easter.

I did some research and found that the scraps were a vintage drapery fabric called "Storybook" by Cyrus Clark. Produced in 1990s, this screenprint fabric is full of rabbits, birds, flowers on pale pink background.

After determining the size of the smallest scrap, I recut the scraps to 11 1/2" square. The smaller scraps were combined with fabrics from my stash to make 16-patch squares of the same size. Old sheet, dress, and skirt scraps were included in colors similar to the featured fabric.

My friend Lynn wanted this quilt for a grand-niece, so it never actually had to be displayed in the store, although I did show it before it was bound.
