Bow Tie : Market Place Quilt, August 2013

This small (cradle or doll size) quilt top was donated to MP, and I decided to finish it quickly to sell in the shop. The individual bow tie blocks were hand-pieced, then the blocks were inexpertly sewn together by machine with tiny seams. I mended it where necessary, then used some appropriate vintage fabric for the backing and binding.

I think the fabrics vary from 1940s-1960s (according to my reference books). Even though much of the off-white muslin was stained, I decided not to wash it at all, fearing that the bright reds would run and ruin the whole thing.
