Blueberry Winter (Alzheimer's Rummage Sale raffle), Sept. 2016

Bonnie Hunter's 2013 Mystery quilt called "Celtic Solstice" was inspired by a tour of Ireland. My version is called Blueberry Winter because I made it in the winter of 2013-2014, finishing it in summer 2016 so it could be raffled off at the end of the Aerobic Dance Company's Alzheimer's fundraising rummage sale.

As the title says, the quilt includes 2 different blueberry print fabrics. The half-size version I made used mostly my own scraps, including a cut-up thrift store shirt, but I really did not have enough orange or yellow fabrics to get a good variety throughout the quilt; I ended up having to buy some small pieces of fabric -- something I try not to do. I did buy the blue-orange-green paisley fabric for borders and backing since it was such a perfect match.
