I Spy: Baby Quilt for Clara, Jan 2009

Made for the little girl adopted by one of my SirsiDynix colleagues, Aaron H. He and his wife Erica, with their boys Carter and Jackson have been working on this Chinese adoption for several years. Aaron brought back their little girl in Jan 2009, and I gave him this quilt for her about a week later.

Since I'd always wanted to try this kind of a quilt: an I Spy is made from fussy-cut fabrics, usually children's prints or other types of novelty fabrics with motifs that depict objects the child can "spy" when looking at the quilt. I tried to use as many prints from many previous quilts, especially the Chinese novelty fabrics from the quilts made for my great-nieces and great-nephew in Texas.
