Aaron's Playroom, August 2007

Made for Aaron Hammond ("Junior"), a colleague at SirsiDynix who, after a promotion to manager, spent 2 months working in the Provo, Utah, office. Before he returned to Huntsville, we found out that our small conference room was assigned to Aaron. William Eubank "decorated" Aaron's new office as a playroom. Lots of people brought kids' toys and other junk; I made a little quilt.

I brought a scrap piece of cream fabric to the office and got people to outline their hands with a fabric marker. I kept a list of everyone who made their mark, created iron-on labels for each name, and randomly ironed them to the fabric.

This is my first tied quilt. I used different colors of embroidery floss to tie around the fingers and thumbs of the hands of the quilt, as well as at each of block corners and centers.
