Dining With Friends, May 2009 /AIDS Action Coalition Fundraiser
This machine-pieced and machine quilted quilt made in a workshop called Stacky Wacky Stars. Since the DWF did not have a theme this year, I thought I would donate this quilt made from a variety of black and gold/tan celestial print fabrics. The title was suggested by husband Mike ( 1950s science fiction novel by Alfred Bester). The celestial fabrics were mostly collected in the last 2 years, although several of the gold/tan fabrics were donated by my friend Lisa. The star background is done in a free-motion channel quilt design with stars done in a meander pattern. The back and outside border are from the Robert Kaufman Stargazer collection.
